Learning Together, Achieving More
Meerkats, Bobcats and Lemmings
Dear Parents, Carers and Children in Meerkats, Bobcats and Lemmings,
First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families and children in Reception classes, but especially to Bobcats and Lemmings who have not been in school this week because of the flood. We are very excited to welcome you all back to school on Monday. So that we could get all of the children affected by the flood back on Monday, we have been very busy behind the scenes creating a new learning space for all of our Reception classes in our large hall. The teachers and staff have been working very hard for the last day or so to create a new space until we can move back into our usual classrooms.
In the mornings, drop off will need to be different so we can all keep safe. Drop off for all Reception children from Monday will be from the old Junior School entrance. Some of you will know this as the drop off point for Before and After School Club. At the door, there will be staff to welcome your child and escort them into their new classroom. (See photo below for morning drop off point).
At the end of the day, we need to do something different too, in order to keep everyone safe. At the end of the day, Reception children will be lined up in a special "Reception" collection area on the junior playground. This is because we do not have 3 separate exits at the new classroom door and there is not enough space for parents to wait outside the hall. You will see this space marked out with the blue fencing (see photograph below).
Miss Williams, Miss McCone, Mrs Sayer, Mrs Cripps and Miss Askey will have the children all lined up in this area and parents will have a place to stand, so that they are able to safely match one child at a time to their parent or carer. Please be patient as this will be a completely new routine for us all on Monday and safeguarding will always be our main priority.
Have a super weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning.
Kind regards,
Mr L Chamberlain
