Reception and Year 1-6 Admissions
Please note that all admissions for Reception to Year 6 must be applied for directly
through the local authority. The information is available through Solihull Council
Admissions Team on 0121 704 6693 or at Solihull School Admissions
For further information, our school prospectus for both the Infant and Junior sites can be found at the bottom of this page.
We admit up to 52 children into Nursery (offering 15 hours for 26 children in the morning and 15 hours for 26 children in the afternoon) and 90 into Reception.
Our school follows Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council’s admission arrangements for Reception aged children.
Each year, the council publishes information detailing of the admission arrangements for Solihull schools. The information is available from the Solihull Council school admissions team on 0121 704 6693 or from the SMBC website at www.solihull.gov.uk/admissions
You can apply for a place online at http://www.solihull.gov.uk/enrol
Reception application forms are available from the Solihull School admissions Team 12 months before the child is due to start in reception.
Attendance in a school Nursery will not give any priority for a place in the reception class at the same school. A Reception application form must be completed.
All Solihull infant and primary schools are now responsible for their own admissions policy. In order to provide as much information as possible for parents, we have published a copy of our policy for admissions, along with information leaflets about the government 30 hour free childcare. You will also find a copy of the Nursery place application form which needs to be completed and returned to the school.
In November, we would traditionally welcome prospective parents for our September 2021 Nursery and Reception intake to our school to meet with staff and see the school in operation. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we have not been able to open our doors to you as normal and so we have produced a video to share information about our school with you together with information about how to apply for a place in Nursery or Reception.
Please click on the link below to access the virtual open day.
Whilst we know that the video doesn’t replace being able to visit school we hope that it will enable you to get a feel for our school and the ethos here. You will also have the opportunity to see some images of our brand new building which should be ready in Autumn 2021 which we are all very excited about.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and it would be lovely to welcome your family to our school in September 2021, if you choose Olton Primary for your child.
