National Curriculum for Primary Education
At Olton Primary School, we offer a curriculum which is broad and which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children. Our curriculum follows the statutory requirements of the national curriculum but also caters for the needs and interests of our pupils, providing opportunities for children to fully develop their skills and knowledge.
Within each subject area are knowledge organisers which show how teachers identify the key knowledge and developmental skills within each unit as well as previous learning links in order for pupils to be confident learners. Our units of work build on prior knowledge and skills acquired throughout a pupils’ learning journey at Olton.
