PTFA- Parents, Teachers & Friends Association

Olton Primary's Parents Teachers Friends Association is part of the amalgamation of Daylesford Infant and Chapel Fields Junior Schools.  Both schools had an active organisation who arranged fund raising events throughout the school year to buy items which are not provided by a general school budget.  These resources help to further improve and enhance the learning for the children at school.

We are always looking for people who can support the PTFA with the wonderful work they do.  The school and the children benefit enormously from the work that the PTFA undertake and so if you are able to support in any capacity with the wonderful events that are organised, please do let us know.  Please contact the school office at either site who will supply you with the relevant contact details and any more information you require.

We are really looking to re-energise the PTA for a new era of fundraising. If you would like to be part of a forward thinking team, please let the school office know of your interest (12office@olton.solihull.sch.uk). Our first planning meeting will be via TEAMS on Tuesday 13th July at 4.00pm and it is a great opportunity to meet new people, fundraise and make a positive difference to our children’s experience at school.

The PTA AGM was held on Tuesday 6th July and following this a July newsletter has been sent out to all parents.

The PTA confirmed that £9,254 is held in the accounts and that the leadership team have requested that the money is used to support two projects to enhance the provision within school.

Project 1 – funding to provide Nursery and Reception children in the new EYFS block new and additional resources such as role play and other open ended resources to promote valuable skills of confidence, independence and critical thinking.

Project 2 – funding to purchase additional books to reinvigorate class libraries in Key Stage 2 ensuring there is a wider range of texts including graphic novels to suit all abilities to further develop a love of reading. If you have any opinions about our proposed spend to support the school or have any ideas for future fundraising, please let the PTA know via the school office email.

Many thanks,

Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

A huge thank you for your support for our Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

The children thoroughly enjoyed visiting the fayre and Santa’s grotto and it was lovely to hear Song Squad sing and so many families enjoying some festive fun after school.

A fabulous total has been raised through the fayre and the raffle and we are delighted to share that we made a profit of £3096.74.
