We have been giving lots of consideration to whether children should continue to come into school on their PE days in their PE kits or come in uniform and change just for the session. We have asked the opinion of some parents and also asked the staff. We have decided that the children can continue to come into school on their PE days in their PE kits.
However, one of the reasons we considered moving back to uniform is because there is so much inconsistency in the PE kits and the children don’t always demonstrate the neatness and pride we expect when they are in their PE uniform. Please ensure that on your child’s PE days that they come in a plain white T shirt and plain black shorts or joggers. Children who do not come into school in the correct PE kit will be given spare items of clothing and asked to change at the start of the day.
We will continue to review the policy of children coming into school in PE kits throughout the year and if we are not able to achieve consistency in terms of all children wearing the correct kit, we will have to reconsider this.
In terms of our usual school uniform, as we often continue to have good weather in the first half of the Autumn term, children are welcome to wear their Summer uniform until October half term if they wish to.
Please be reminded that accessories must be kept to a minimum and should be in school colours of blue or grey. In terms of jewellery, only items of religious significance such as a bracelet/bangle, stud earrings and a watch are allowed for safety reasons.
School Uniform and PE Kits for September 2024
Just a reminder as many of us are already starting to get organised for September of our school uniform. Children can choose to wear a white collared shirt with a school tie or a plain white polo shirt alongside a charcoal grey skirt/trousers. Shoes must be black and not trainers. For EYFS, white polo shirt and sweatshirt and charcoal grey skirt or trousers.
Up until October half term, blue checked summer dresses can also be worn. We do not stipulate logos on jumpers as we appreciate the cost involved but they are available from local school outfitters, should you wish to purchase.
PE Kits
We wear our PE kits for two days a week and want all of our children to look smart whilst they are in school or representing Olton at an event. We have a new PE royal blue t- shirt which is available from Midlands School Wear and Clive Marks. Plain white t shirts can be worn up until October half term whilst we phase in the new colour top. Black or dark navy jogging bottoms/shorts/sweatshirt/hoodie.
We have a limited number of the following Blue PE tops available to purchase via Parentpay.
