Dear Parents and Carers,

Having reviewed safety arrangements for the heatwave we are experiencing which is continuing tomorrow, coupled with higher humidity we will be closing the school to all pupils tomorrow after lunch. This means all pupils must be collected from school at 1:15pm for KS2 and 1:20pm for EYFS and KS1. If you normally collect your Nursery child at 11:30am on a Friday, you can do this as normal.

Over the past few days our attendance has been considerably impacted by the heat and today's attendance is 75%. We know from messages and conversations with parents, they are concerned about the temperatures in school for their children. 

We are really grateful for your support this week and appreciate your understanding in this period of exceptionally hot weather. Despite the continued efforts of staff and pupils to manage the challenging conditions, we are aware these are impacting everyone and the health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff remain our priority.

Whilst children are out of school this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon, they are able to access online programmes to support learning such as Times Table Rockstars and Purple Mash, should you wish them to.

We look forward to school resuming, as normal from Monday, with a week of Sports Days to look forward to.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please can those parents who have requested to collect their child at the earlier time today collect as follows.

EYFS, KS1 and Wallabies - Please collect your child are usual from their classroom door.

Rest of KS2 - Please collect your child from the junior playground as you would usually.

Please collect any KS2 children first before collecting EYFS or KS1.

Collection time for KS2 is 1:15pm and EYFS/KS1 is 1:20pm. Please try to collect at these times as we want to ensure the school premises is closed and secured as soon as possible to ensure the safety of those children remaining in school.

Good evening everyone,
Having reviewed safety arrangements for the heatwave tomorrow and Thursday, we have made the decision to remain open tomorrow (Wednesday 24th June 2026) but allow collection after lunch (1:10pm for KS2 and 1:15pm for EYFS/KS1) should parents wish to. After School Club will run on Wednesday for those children are already booked in and need to stay. With even hotter temperatures anticipated on Thursday (25th June 2026) we have decided to close the school to all pupils from 1:15pm. All children must be collected on Thursday.

If you would like to collect your child after lunch on Wednesday, you must complete the forms link below by 11.00am tomorrow, so we can organise the children.

Dear Parents/Carers

Due to the heat expected tomorrow, the lunch menu will change for Thursday 25^th June to a lighter lunch as detailed below.

• Tomato Pasta
• Jacket Potato with cheese, cheese and beans or tuna
• Sandwich with cheese, ham or tuna

All lunches will be served with a side salad and pudding does not need to be ordered and can be chosen on the day.

On the 24th June we are hosting another day which is dedicated to the enjoyment of reading. As part of this, we will be having a 'loungewear day' where children can come into school in comfy, loungewear clothing (no pyjamas please). Please can we make sure the children are dressed in sensible clothing that will meet the requirements of the school, bearing in mind weather conditions and suitable footwear for both indoors and outdoors.

We are asking for a £1 donation for this non-uniform day via ParentPay and the funds will go towards funding new reading resources for the school libraries (Infants and Juniors).

Well done to all the children for managing well with the heat today. Tomorrow is our Reading Loungewear day £1 donation). Use this as an opportunity to dress comfortably for the weather that we are currently experiencing. We are managing outdoor time carefully around the school to avoid peak heat and sunshine. A reminder to apply sun creams, bring sun hats and water bottles to stay hydrated.

Dear Parents/Carers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support with Girls’ Football club and Netball club this year. 

Both clubs have now finished for this academic year and will begin in September 2026 (date to be confirmed).

Well done to all the children who have attended the clubs this year and thank you for bringing them to matches and supporting from the sidelines.  A special well done to our Year 6 players, who have been fantastic members of the team and have showed a brilliant commitment to the clubs.

Tomorrow is our final day of Charity Week. We have our last house market as well as our blue/red non-uniform day, coin collages to complete and 'Soak the Head Teacher' so lots to look forward to.

If you have any sponsorship money from the sponsored events, please can we ask that you send that in tomorrow so we can have a final total ready to share with the children at the start of next week.

Good morning everyone, we have officially started our 2026 charity week in support of British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK. Today KS2 will be going on a sponsored walk to Jubilee Park at 1.15pm. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered, your help is needed to make this a success. We are aiming to leave as close to 1.15pm as possible, so please arrive at the main school reception area from 1.00pm so we can tick you off the list! The walk will last about an hour.

Tomorrow, in KS2, Ash house will have their first breaktime market in the hall and then after school we will have our infant cake sale on the  playground opposite Sealions classroom. Please send in any cake donations tomorrow morning.

We hope to raise lots of money for two very worthy charities. Thank you for your support.
