Learning Together, Achieving More.
Dear Parents/Carers/Children,
We are delighted to invite children from across the school to take part in a variety of Easter and Spring competitions at Olton and we know that our children enjoy taking part in these activities. A small prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category and for each phase will be awarded.
EASTER COMPETITONS 2025
Children may enter the various Competitions as shown below. Any child can enter any category, regardless of year group, allowing children to build on skills year on year. It is important that entries are brought into school on Thursday 10th April 2025, with your child’s name either on the reverse or somewhere discrete. We shall post photographs on School Dojo.
Category 1: Egg(s) in a scene – a blown or hard-boiled egg(s) within a scene of your choice - be as creative as you like. Why not create for favourite superhero, book character or even a teacher?
Category 2: An Easter Garden/Spring garden, modern or traditional, using a range of real plants/grass, twigs, stones, etc. (see image below – lots of ideas can be safely googled!).
Category 3: Easter Bonnets - create a spring inspired hat.
Category 4: A decorated cake. We know that Olton has the best bakers! Why not have a go at decorating a spring or Easter inspired cake.
In Reception, we have a child with a severe egg allergy and so please can we ask that if your child wants to enter one of the categories that you do not create an egg character/eggs in a scene. Please can we also ask that if you create a garden or bonnet that you do not include real egg shell within the design. Thank you for your support.
We look forward to seeing all of the wonderful creations.
Best wishes.

Dear Year 6 Parents/Carers,
We have 25 remaining seats available for the Leavers Performance. Replies to the form will be received in order of completion and tickets will be allocated as a first come first serve basis to the first 25 replies. We are only offering 1 ticket per child for these remaining seats. The form will close at 3pm on Thursday 5th June unless the tickets sell out before then. We will then add the payment to Parent Pay. Please ensure that you add your child's name to this form so we know who has requested a ticket. Please note this will be the final sale of tickets and there will be no tickets available after this.

Good afternoon Parents/Carers of Year Two Pupils,
This is a gentle reminder the payment of £17.00 is due on or before a week on Friday 4 April 2025 for the above trip. Thank you to the Parents/Carers who have already paid.
As you are aware, should we not receive sufficient funds to cover the cost of the trip by lunchtime on the 4th April, the trip will be cancelled, and any payments received will be refunded.
We have to comply with the cancellation charges/deadline dates set by the venue/coach companies, which in many cases, is why we have to ask for payments well in advance for trips/events. This will ensure should we have to cancel the trip/event, we would be following the correct process, and not charged as a school for the cancellation outside of the given notice period.
If you are aware your child will not be attending the trip, can you kindly let me know by return and I can remove the payment from your ParentPay account.
Many thanks
Kind regards

Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another fabulous day of fundraising today. Thank you for the additional coins that were sent in to complete the coin collages which look stunning as you can see from the pictures. There have been lots of interesting discussions about how much the collages are worth with all of the coins on so we will look forward to sharing the total.
We had the Oak KS2 house market at breaktime today and they raised a staggering £241.35. Tomorrow it is the turn of Birch so if your child is in KS2 and in Birch, please send them in with any items they have to sell at the market.
After school today, we hope you will stop by to purchase a sweet treat at the infant cake sale which will be on the Year 1 playground.
We really appreciate your support.

Dear Parents/Carers,
Please can I remind you that any requests for absence for Eid must be made on a Leave of Absence form and submitted to school two weeks prior to taking the leave. We are aware that the actual date for Eid is not confirmed until nearer the time, so when completing the form please put the approximate date(s), which you can confirm once you have been advised of the date. Only one day will be authorised for Eid. For ease, a Leave of Absence form is attached with this letter, which you can complete and return via email, but you can also collect a paper copy from the office.
If a Leave of Absence Form is not completed the absence will be unauthorised.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
Mrs Y Jones
Office Manager

Good afternoon, we are all looking forward to starting our Charity Week sponsored events tomorrow in support of Kids Village.
For KS2, we shall be walking around Jubilee Park tomorrow morning. I have just been for a late afternoon walk around there myself and the paths and grassy areas are not too wet. However, please make sure that KS2 children come prepared with suitable footwear and a warm/waterproof coat just in case! Thank you to all the volunteers who have offered to help tomorrow morning- please can you arrive at the reception area by 9.05. We are planning to leave at 9.15am and I have booked the sunshine for the event!
Also tomorrow, we have our annual science fayre which will start at 2pm until 2.45pm in the school hall. Please use the old junior entrance for signing in. The gadget shop will also be on after school tomorrow from 3pm and will be outside Panda's classroom.
Many thanks for your support,
Mr Chamberlain
