Learning Together, Achieving More.
Dear Parents/Carers,
We will be running another in-house book fair on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd December. We will be selling quality books at amazing, discounted prices as well as lots of stationery on offer for the children. During the day, children will be able to come with their classmates to visit the fair and make any purchases. If you would like your child to make a purchase at the fair during the day, please send your child in with money in a named envelope or purse. Our stock ranges from 50p to £4. The book fair will also be open after school on Tuesday 2nd December in the small hall from 3:15-4 pm. There will be members of staff nearby to direct you. We are a cash- only book fair, so please try to bring along exact cash if possible.
Yours sincerely,
Miss F Jordan

Good afternoon, Parent/Carers,
We wanted to share with you a system that is in place with ParentPay that allows Parent/Carers to set up a low balance warning on their ParentPay account, to prevent debits appearing for school lunches.
As you are aware, as a school we kindly ask Parent/Carers to ensure they have sufficient credit on their ParentPay account by 8.30am on each day they wish their child to use the Catering Provision provided by school. School meals are ordered at registration in a morning, and payment is also taken at the same time. Should your account fall lower than £3.00 on that day, will result in a debit balance. As this payment item should only be used under a credit balance, you may find the following information helpful and prevent your account falling into a debit balance.
ParentPay
ParentPay system incorporates a low balance warning system which can be set up by each parent according to their own needs. When the balance on a particular payment item for a particular child reaches a pre-set level decided by the parent, the system will automatically send a text or e-mail notification to the parents.
Kind regards,
Mrs T Chakmak
Finance/Wraparound Admin Officer
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow, children are invited to wear Pudsey ears or other accessories to school if they wish, in support of Children in Need.
Please note, this is not a non-school uniform day – children should wear their usual school uniform.
This is entirely optional, and any donation, big or small, is very welcome.
Thank you for helping us support this important cause!

18 Nov, 7:30 - 20 Nov, 19:30 - TTRS England Rocks
Join in and have fun earning points for your class - everyone is in it to win it!
Dear Parents and Carers of Year 1 to Year 6 children,
As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools in England. The competition runs from 7.30 am Tuesday 18th November 2025 to 7.30 pm Thursday 20th November 2025. It's all done online via play.ttrockstars.com.
Children can play in any gamemode, with every correct answer to a multiplication or division question earning themselves, their class and the school a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers in the class, divided by the number of children in that class). Winning classes in the school, and in the competition as a whole, will be the ones with the highest average.
To support player wellbeing, there is a daily time limit of 60-minutes per player. In other words, each player can earn competition points for up to 60-minutes between 7.30 am and 7.30 pm on Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th November 2025. Once the player goes beyond 60-minutes of play on the day, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition.
In the spirit of the competition, can we please ask that you do not play on the children’s behalf - but by all means encourage and support them to the extent that it doesn't cause high stress levels or impact on family plans.
Enjoy.

Dear Year 1 Parent/Carer,
At Olton Primary School, parent and carer feedback is very important to us and informs the decisions we make about the curriculum and learning experiences on offer for your children.
We would be grateful if you could take a few moments to complete our short questionnaire using the link below:

Dear Parents/Carers,
We are using a new system to send some school information out to parents via email. This information will initially include attendance reports, free school meal letters and some SEND documentation. Due to the information contained within these letters being relevant to a specific child rather than a generic whole school letter, to download the letter or report you will be prompted to enter your child’s date of birth to access the file.
If you receive an email the sender will still show as the Olton office and if you have any queries, you will still reply to any of the Olton office accounts. We will still be using parentmail to send out whole school information, but we wanted to let you know about this change so if you receive an email, you are not concerned whether it is a genuine email as you have not been asked to do this previously.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Gray Miss Jordan

Next week is Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re kicking it off with Odd Socks Day! Encourage your child to wear odd socks to school to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Odd Socks Day is a fun way to start conversations about kindness, respect and inclusion. By taking part, children show that being different is something to celebrate—and that bullying has no place in our school.
Let’s make it colourful, fun and full of positivity!
