Dear Parents/Carers,

We have previously shared with you the dates for our EYFS and KS1 Christmas performances this year and this letter includes the links you need to reserve spaces at the performance you wish to attend. Unfortunately, due to the capacity of our hall (which includes the children performing) we are only able to accommodate two adults per family. This could mean two people at one performance or one person at each of the performances. If you choose the option of one person at each performance, please complete two separate forms using relevant the link below.

This year, our Nursery and Reception children are performing together, as an EYFS phase, on Wednesday 17^th December at 9:15am and 2:00pm. Please use the link below to book a place at the performance you will be attending.

Our KS1 children will perform their Christmas play at school on Monday 15^th December at 2:00pm and Tuesday 16^th December at 9:15am.  Please use the link below to book a place at the performance you will be attending.

The KS1 children will also perform at Lyndon Church on Thursday 18^th December in the morning but, unfortunately we are not able to invite parents to watch this performance due to space in the church.

Please be advised that due to this horrible rain we are not able to play Netball tonight.  Our luck with the weather this week hasn't been very good!  Please ensure your child knows their alternative end of day arrangement.

Dear Year 5 & 6 Parents/Carers,

Please be advised that Thursday 4^th December 2025 will be the last Netball club before the Christmas holidays and Monday 8^th December will be the last Girls Football Club before the holidays too. Girls Football Club will resume on Monday 12^th January and Netball Club will start back on Thursday 15^th January 2026. We are looking forward to arranging some matches in the Spring term for both clubs.

Hi all,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our last day of the book fair. Year 4, 5 and 6 will be visiting tomorrow morning (so please remember to bring in your money) as our younger year groups visited today.

It will also be open to parents after school from 3:15 till 4pm. Staff will be around at the end of the day to direct you to the small hall.

We are a cash-only book fair and please try to bring change if possible. Hope to see lots of you at the book fair tomorrow night.

Hi all,

This is just a quick reminder that we have our book fair today and tomorrow. Children will have the opportunity to visit the book fair over the course of the next two days to make any purchases. It will also be open to parents after school on Tuesday until 4pm. We have a range of books on offer from £1-£4 as well as stationery items from 50p- £2. This year, we will be selling pre-owned books as well for £1.

We are a cash-only book fair, so if you wish to allow your child to make a purchase, please send in money in a named envelope.

As you are aware for this trip to go ahead, we do rely on Parental Contributions. At present, we have received 26%, thank you to the ones that have paid.

The deadline for payment is Friday 12 December 2025.  Should full contributions not be received on or before this date, the event unfortunately would be cancelled.  If you have paid, and we cancel the event, you will receive a full refund.

Just a reminder from the PTA that tomorrow (Friday 28th November) is a non-uniform day and rather than ask for donations of money, we are asking for bottle donations for one of our tombola stalls at the PTA Christmas Fayre.

Please can we also remind EYFS & KS1 parents who wish for their child to see Father Christmas or have a chocolate coin that the form and money need to be received in school by Monday 1st December. If you have ordered a 'Book Bundle' package, please note the payment is required on or before tomorrow – 27^thNovember 2025 on ParentPay.  After tomorrow, any Book Bundle order that has not been paid, will be removed from ParentPay so that the school's order can be placed for all those who have paid.

Dear Year 5 & 6 Parents/Carers,

We are delighted to announce that there is a Year 5/Year 6 Basketball competition coming up. There will be two events which, if you decide to take part, you must commit to both.

There are 10 spaces available. This is a mixed girls’ and boys’ event.
The dates are: 

• Light Hall League - Night 1: Tuesday 2^nd December 2025
• Light Hall League - Night 2: Tuesday 3^rd February 2026

Both events are from 4:00pm - 5:30pm.

The venue will be:
Light Hall School, Hathaway Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 2PZ

Unfortunately, the venue is unable to take spectators so we ask parents to drop their child off where they will be met by a member of staff. 

Children will need their blue Olton PE kit for the event. They must bring water and any medicines that they require.

If you are able to commit to this event, please complete the consent form below. We will let you know if your child has been offered a place in the team by adding them to a new Dojo group. If you do not hear from us, then unfortunately your child has not been selected this time. We will let you know by Friday 28^thNovember.
