Dear Year 1 & Year 2 Parents/Carers,
Please note that Sports Day for Key Stage 1 has been cancelled due to the grass being too wet. We will advise you once we have rearranged another date. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Mrs Y Jones
Office Manager

Good morning Parents,
Unfortunately, extremely dry conditions followed by heavy rain early this morning has made the field slippery and unsafe to use for our Key Stage 1 sports day morning. Please accept our apologies, but the children's safety will always come first.
We will provide an alternative date later on today and let you know. Ironically the weather looks fabulous from tomorrow for the rest of this term.
We are hoping that the sun comes out and dries the grass enough to have our EYFS sports day later on today, as the field should have time to dry out. But please monitor your Dojo messages just in case.
Thank you for your understanding.
Miss Morgan
Assistant Head Teacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
Tomorrow is Olton’s in-school transition day and children who are currently in Nursery up to Year 5 will spend the day in their new classroom with their new teacher. Many of our Year 6 children will also have a transition day at their secondary school tomorrow or over the next week or so and you will have been contacted directly by the secondary school about the arrangements for this day.
Although the children will spend the day in their new classes for September, tomorrow their start and finish times will still be the same as they are at the moment. This means that even though our Year 2 children will spend the day with their Year 3 teacher, their soft start time is still 8:40am-8:50am and their finish time will still be 3:10pm.
When children arrive in the morning they will go to their current class. Once everyone is registered, all the children will move to their new classroom to spend the whole day with the teacher they will have next year. This means that when you collect at the end of the school day, you will need to go to your child’s new classroom or to the playground.
If your child is in the juniors or moving up to Year 3, they will need to be collected from the KS2 playground at the end of the day. If your child is going to be in Wallabies with Mrs Lewis from September, please collect directly from the Wallabies’ classroom door in the lower school block (where Mrs Lewis is with Pandas currently) at 3pm.
If your child is currently in Nursery, Reception or Year 1, please collect from their new classroom at 3:10pm.
If you are trying to locate a classroom at the end of the day, Mr Chamberlain and Mrs Gray will be on hand to direct you. Below is some information which may help you navigate your way around the school site.
· Infant block (side nearest to the road) as you enter from the gate that leads off the main drive the classrooms are in the following order:
Sea Lions, Dolphins, Otters, Meerkats, Bobcats, Lemmings.
· Infant block (side nearest to the field) as you look along with the infant block to your left, the classrooms are in the following order:
Wallabies, Seals, Whales, Penguins, Chameleons/Robins.
We hope that by collecting the children from their new classroom or on the playground will enable you to meet their new teacher at the end of the day.
Transition day is designed to help the children familiarise themselves with their new environment and teacher to support a smooth transition in September. We hope the children have an enjoyable day.
Please speak to your child’s teacher if you have any queries.
Yours sincerely,
Mr L Chamberlain Mrs E Gray

It is great that so many of the children have come prepared for the hot weather today and the adults too!
It looks as though tomorrow will be equally hot, so we have decided that pupils can come to school in their PE kits on Tuesday. We shall review the rest of the week on a day-by-day basis.
Many thanks,
Mr L Chamberlain
Head Teacher

Dear Parents/Carers,
We are holding a non-uniform day and a Summer Term Disco, hosted by Mirror Image Disco, for the children on Monday 30th June 2025.
All children from Nursery to Year 6 are invited to come into school on this day in non-uniform for a £1 donation. All of the infant children will attend the disco during the afternoon for around 25 minutes. Although infant children will not be able to buy sweets and refreshments during their time at the disco, small prizes will be awarded which the children will have the chance to win.
Our KS2 children are invited to attend the disco after school from 3.15pm – 4.30pm. The tickets will be £4 each. If your child would like a ticket, please complete the link below and send £4 cash in an envelope with your child’s name and class to be handed to their class teacher. The completed form and money for the ticket needs to be received by 12pm on Tuesday 24th June. After this time, the form will not accept requests for tickets. Due to the capacity of the hall, we are not able to sell more than 200 tickets so if the maximum number is reached prior to the deadline, we will inform parents. Please note that unless we have a completed consent form and the £4, we will not be able to issue a ticket.

Children must have purchased a ticket prior to the event to attend and entry is limited to junior pupils as the infants will have attended a shorter session in the afternoon on that day. Refreshments, sweets and light up accessories will be on sale for the junior children and there will be spot prizes and games. If you would like your child to buy sweets/drinks, please send money in a named purse or wallet with them on the day of the disco. Please ensure your child brings his/her money and comes into school in non-uniform that morning, as the office staff are not able to take money or clothes to children throughout the day.
When collecting your child(ren) at 4.30pm, please wait outside of the old junior main entrance (near the car park) and a member of staff will call each year group separately. When you have collected your child from the hall, please continue along the corridor and out of the side entrance, where you can walk along the path to the main gates. Please note, all children must be collected by an adult after the disco, even if you have given permission for them walker as this event finishes outside of the school day.
Many thanks. I am sure a great time will be had by all!
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Neal
