Welcome back to the start of another school year - I hope that you all had a good summer.

I am pleased to announce that Olton Primary School has been chosen to be part of the next cohort of schools who are participating in the PINS Project (Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools).  Neurodiversity is a term which covers a range of different additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia.  The project offers schools support and training, through different external agencies such as health and Solihull Parent Carer Voice (SPCV), in developing how to best meet the needs of pupils who are neurodiverse. 

Below is a link to a survey from SPCV which I have been asked to share with you.  Information from the survey will be used to identify current strengths and potential areas of improvement in a school.  The survey is for all parents and carers who have children attending a school which is part of the project, and who may have an additional educational need.  If you have more than one child, you can complete the survey for each child if you wish.

If you wish your child to be a walker this academic year, please complete the attached permission form and include where they will be walking to i.e. to the school gate or home.

Please note your child will not be allowed to walk unless this permission form is completed and returned to the school office.

This is only confirmation, should you wish your child to order and purchase a school lunch, the cost has increased to £3.00 per day, £15.00 per week.

Can we kindly ask Parent/Carers to ensure they have sufficient funds on their ParentPay account by 8.30am each day.

Good afternoon Parents/Carers,

This is a polite reminder to all Parents/Carers that if you wish your child to order a school lunch, can we please ask that you ensure you have sufficient funds on your account at all times.  As you are aware, it is the Parents/Carers responsibility to check and ensure they have sufficient credit on their ParentPay account by 8.30 am on the days they wish their child to order.

School lunches are ordered and charged at registration every morning.

If you do experience any problems then please let me know.

On Wednesday 16th July, Year 6 are hosting a Bake Sale at break time to raise money for school. If children would like to buy cakes, please could they bring money on Wednesday. We would really appreciate any donations. Please note all monies/donations to be in an envelope and to be taken to classroom with your child as the school office cannot take in money.

Dear Song Squad Parents/Carers,

Song Squad will be cancelled tomorrow (15^th July) as we doing lots of singing this week to both Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2 and I think we will be all sung out!

Just a reminder that children can wear PE kits tomorrow due to the hot weather. On Friday, it is non uniform day as we are collecting chocolate and cakes for our PTA summer fayre on Saturday. We hope to see you all there between 11am and 2pm.

Also, a reminder that we have our fantastic Images art exhibition in the school hall tomorrow (EYFS and KS1) and for KS2 on Friday. You will have all received a hard copy of a pre-order form to purchased any framed art works. The show is open to parents from 2.30pm on Thursday and Friday. Please use the old junior school entrance door, where a member of the team will greet you.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Reward Trip. We will be leaving school at 10.15am and will return at approximately 3.45pm. Children will be dismissed as walkers if they are normally, unless you advise us of other arrangements. Please can children wear their PE kits and bring plenty to drink and nut-free snacks for the cinema if they would like. Lunch is provided at the bowling alley.

There will be a change to the Lunch menu on Wednesday the 9^th July due to being Wimbledon Day.  

There will be:  Beef Burger in a bun

                          Kentucky Quorn Burger in a bun served with                                         Wedges and Sweetcorn.

                     Dessert -  Strawberries and Vanilla Ice-Cream.
