Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had some amazing projects in school this week on the theme of ‘Growth’ in celebration of British Science Week. All children have had the opportunity to share their projects in class but in addition to this we will share the children’s work in the following ways:

In Nursery, Miss Moore will post photos of the projects and posters that have been created so that everyone gets to see the work that the children have done in both morning and afternoon Nursery.

In Reception and Year 1, on Friday 18th March, the teachers will have the projects available for you to come into the classes after school to see until approximately 3:30pm.

For Years 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, the children who have completed projects will be in the hall to share and demonstrate their projects to parents. During this time, the overall winners will be chosen. Parents are invited into school to see our Year 2 - Year 6 Science exhibition on Monday 21^st March 2022 between 2:15pm and 2:45pm. Dear Parents/Carers,

The week of Monday 14th March, we will be celebrating BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK at Olton. On this week, we’d like to invite you and your child, along with other pupils and staff from our school, to be involved. As a school we’re planning an exciting week of events and activities, one of which is the ‘Gadget Shop’.

Our ‘Gadget Shop’ is an exciting stall, home to the most exciting SCIENTIFIC/ MATHEMATICAL curiosities this side of the moon. It is jam packed with SCIENTIFIC/ MATHEMATICAL gizmos, toys, games and gadgets, all aiming to promote a practical awareness of SCIENCE/MATHS in the real world. What’s more, any profits made from the stall will go back into supporting Science at Olton, with funds towards school resources.

The stall will take place after school outside classes 3L and 3B from 3.15pm from Monday 14th March until Friday 18th March. The gadgets on the stall will range from 50p to £3.00. Should your child wish to buy a curiosity from our school stall, please ensure all monies are brought to school by the adults collecting children from the playground/classes.

We cannot provide facilities for children to securely store their spending money during the school day. Once again, thank you for your ongoing support to our school. It is only with your help that we can continue to provide an excellent education for your child.
