  • Easter Competition 2023

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

All of the children are invited to take part in our Easter competitions which will take place on Friday 31st March.

There are 4 categories: Easter bonnet, Easter garden, Easter cake and Egg character(s) in a scene and the children are able to enter as many as they wish.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each phase. A letter has previously been sent with more details and some pictures for inspiration. We always love to see the children’s (and parents!) creativity and will look forward to sharing lots of photos on Dojo.

Please ensure that all entries are in school on Friday 31st March and has your child’s name and class clearly marked so that they can be returned once they prizes have been awarded. Thank you for your support with one of our most fun events of the year!

  • Charity Week

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

We have had another fantastic charity week and as always our whole school community have come together to show their kindness and generosity in support of our two chosen charities.

The sponsored events which took place last week raised a fabulous £1378.23. We have had our house markets running across the course of the week which raised an amazing total of £640.61. Well done to Oak who were the house that raised the most money.

We also had our cake sale after school which raised £140.30. Donations for the soak the head teacher event totalled £172.61. The copper see-saw and copper coin race saw a total of £299 in 1p and 2p coins collected. The weight of the coins on the see-saw by Friday managed to lift Mrs Garner and Dolphins were the class with the longest line of coins which was 58m in length.

Today we have had our non-uniform day from which we have collected a further £329.22. We also had other donations of £23.75.

This gives a grand total of £2983.72 raised through our 2023 charity week. 20% of the total is retained by school to purchase new resources and the remaining 80% is split between the two charities so they each get £1193.48.

  • Charity Week 2023

    Fri 17 Mar 2023

We kicked off Charity week with all of our KS2 children and staff walking around Jubilee Park as the first of our sponsored events which are raising money for our two charities: Guide Dogs and Cancer Research. We even had the Guide Dog mascot accompany us on the walk which gave us even more excitement and we are very grateful to the charity for supporting us in this way! A huge thank you also goes to our wonderful parent helpers who were out in force to enable us to have all of KS2 off-site at the same time. We really do appreciate your help. While KS2 were off-site, our EYFS and KS1 children also completed their sponsored scoot, treasure hunt and skip. Well done everyone!

A reminder of the events that are taking place next week: -

    - House markets are running from 10:30 am—10:45 am each day with each house fundraising on a different day.

Children are asked to bring in small items, toys, books, cakes etc. to sell to raise money.

    • Ash—Monday,
    • Birch—Tuesday,
    • Chestnut—Wednesday
    • Oak - Thursday.

     - Treat sale after school on Tuesday and Wednesday on the Year 1 playground after school. Unfortunately, Mr Chamberlain is not in school on Thursday so the highlight of charity week, ‘Soak the Headteacher’ will now be on the afternoon of Tuesday 21st March. Only children who make a donation can take part to ‘Soak the Head Teacher’.

    - Copper seesaw for KS2 will run throughout the week and EYFS and KS1 are delaying their copper coin race until Wednesday so please send coins into school in readiness for that.

    - On Friday we are holding a non-uniform day and inviting children to wear red, yellow or blue to represent the colours of the charities we are fundraising for.

Please kindly send in a £1 donation for non-uniform day.

Thank you for your support with all our school events - we really appreciate it.
