  • Halloween Disco - Children who are Walkers

    Mon 23 Oct 2023

    Children who are Walkers

    Dear Parent/Carers,

We understand some parents have questioned if children who are normally walkers can walk home.  Unfortunately, as this has not been communicated to all parents we are requesting that your child is collected at 4:30pm from the old junior main entrance, due to safeguarding reasons and with the night’s drawing in.  Apologies for any inconvenience and to those parents who were wrongly advised earlier today.

Please note we will not dismiss children as walkers after the Disco.

    Regards

  • Collection Consent Form

    Fri 20 Oct 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,

This afternoon your child(ren) will be bringing home a Collection Consent form.  Add the names of any person you give authorisation to collect your child at the end of the school day when you are unable to do so.

It is important that you provide a password as this assists with the school’s safeguarding procedures.  A copy of this form will stay with the teacher and a copy will be put on to your child’s file so that the office can check any queries that may arise.  Please complete the form and return to school as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Regards

  • Flu Vaccination 2023

    Tue 17 Oct 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,

This winter Public Health has recommended the nasal flu vaccine is offered to all children in school from Reception to Year 11.

Children are ‘super-spreaders’ of the influenza virus and their mixing patterns mean they can transmit flu to many vulnerable people.

Decreasing the number of children who get flu will not only protect them but will reduce the spread of the virus and reduce levels of illness and even mortality caused by flu in the general population.

Your child will be coming home with a nasal flu vaccination consent form today. Please can you complete and return the forms to school urgently. All forms need to be signed and returned as you are required to either give consent or refuse the vaccine.

If you do not want your child to have the nasal flu vaccine please still sign and return to say you refuse.

All forms must be returned to school by Tuesday 24th October 2023. The Nurses will be in school to administer the nasal spray vaccine on Wednesday 15th November.

If you require more information please visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/child-flu-vaccine/

    Kind Regards

  • Online Booking System for Parents’ Evening Appointments for Nursery to Year 6

    Tue 03 Oct 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,

Online Booking System for Parents’ Evening Appointments for Nursery to Year 6

We are holding our Autumn Term Parents’ Evenings on Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th October 2023 and for these, parents will be able to make an appointment using the online booking system. Appointments will be in person, in your child’s classroom and will be offered from 3:30pm – 6:30pm on both evenings.

Our unique website through which you can book appointments is: https://olton.schoolcloud.co.uk/.

You will log in to the system by adding your details and those of your child, including your child’s date of birth. The parents' evening system uses the details we hold on the SIMS school system. If it does not allow you to log in, please check that you have used your child’s full name or tried the legal name and preferred name. You can add in an email address you wish to use for confirmation and reminders of your chosen appointment time.

Attached with this letter is a Parents’ Guide for Booking Appointments which should take you through the process step by step. You will be able to book appointments through the online portal from 4pm on Wednesday 4th October.

We hope that you find the online booking system quick and easy to use. It should allow you to book the most convenient slot based on availability and for you to co-ordinate appointments, as necessary, if you have more than one child at our school.

If your child is also part of Chameleons class, taught by Mrs Pimm and Miss Jordan, please book an appointment with your child’s class teacher as normal on the online booking system and Mrs Pimm or Miss Jordan will join the class teacher for the appointment time.

If you are having any problems or do not have access to the internet, please contact the school office who can offer support.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Chamberlain                     Mrs Gray
