Our 2024 Solihull SEND Community Event is being held on Wednesday 6th March 2024, 9.30am - 1.30pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Homer Road, Solihull.

This event is to look at what has changed in SEND in Solihull over the last 12 months and what the next steps are. As the Additional Needs Strategy finishes this year, we will also be looking at priorities for the next strategy.

This event will be attended by parents and by professionals from education, health and social care across Solihull.

This is YOUR opportunity to give your views on SEND in Solihull and to influence the priorities for change and improvement moving forward.

If you require any support to attend the meeting, please let us know and we will ensure the correct support is put in place.

Professor McGinty Visit

You will have received a letter this week about Professor McGinty's visit to immerse the children in Tudor Life in June. The original cost of this experience was £5.50 per child but we have been able to subsidise this by £4.50 so when the payment item appears on Parent Pay, it will only be for £1.

Please can we ask you to make the contribution of £1 for the Professor McGinty visit by Wednesday 15^th May 2024 as per the original letter.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, which is forecast to be like this all day, Netball club is cancelled this afternoon. Please make end of day arrangements for your child.

If you child is normally a walker after school, we will allow them to walk as normal at 3pm unless you inform us otherwise.

Infant Block (Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 Pandas)

If you are attending parents’ evening for a child(ren) in the infants, please come through the main Meadow Reception.  The doors will be open to allow access to the corridor from which you can access your child’s class. Please note the classroom doors that you pick up and drop off from each day will not be open. You can only access the classrooms through the main indoor corridor.

Junior Block (Year 3 Gibbons and Leopards and Years 4 - 6)

If you are attending parents’ evening for a child(ren) in the juniors, please come up the path from the car park or the path that goes past the main reception building to the white door that is behind the bike shed.

As you come through the white door the Year 6 classes will be along that corridor.  Racoons – Miss Wareing, Coyotes – Miss Walton and Armadillos – Ms Rahman. 

As you go further into the school go past the hall on the left, carry on straight to the end of the corridor.  On the ground floor you have the following classes.  Dingoes – Miss Hunt, Gibbons – Mrs Bramble/Mrs Wallam, Leopards – Mrs Brady and Aardvarks – Mrs Priddey/Mrs Garner. 

Upstairs in the junior block is, Wallabies – Miss Ballard, Possums – Mr Morgan, Antelopes – Miss Turner and Impalas – Mr Jones/Miss McCone.

We hope this is helpful in you being able to locate your child’s classroom.

Dear Parents/Carers of Whales,

Unfortunately, due to Mrs Attwell being ill, her Parents Evening appointments for today will need to be cancelled.  These will be rescheduled and arrangements for this will be made once Mrs Attwell is back in school.  We will update you about the appointments on Thursday 8^th February when we know whether these are able to go ahead as planned or will also need to be cancelled and rescheduled.  Please accept our apologies and we will be in touch with an update.

Please can we ask you to ensure that your children are fully supervised at the end of the school day.  We have a number of school children who are playing football on the area of grass opposite our nursery and we have been alerted to two near misses.  Ball games are not permitted before or after school on our school site.  Thank you for your support.

Please can you complete the form by Monday 29th January and ensure payment of £4 has been made by Monday 5th February. The £4 amount will be added to your ParentPay account after Monday 29th January.

Once the payment has been made, your child will receive their very own Hogwarts invitation to the evening.
